In short, investment is an act of growing the value of money by making purchase of assets that systematically expected to grow in value. “Systematically expected” means that a thorough analysis and planning has been put in place before a purchase of an asset is made. Without this element, one should rather be known as “gambling” or “speculating’. Assets, in which an investor could put money into for investment, are categorized into two main categories namely physical assets and financial assets. Physical assets are assets like real estates, buildings, machineries, gold, silver etc. Financial assets are assets like shares, bonds, fixed deposits, and many other securities and derivatives.
